Origins[]
On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza, age 20, fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members, and wounded two, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Sany Hook village of Sandy Hook Before driving to the school, Lanza had shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their Newtown home. After killing the students and staff members, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head as first responders arrived.
The massacre is the second-deadliest school shooting in United States history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre. It also is the second-deadliest mass murder at an American elementary school, after the 1927 Bath School bombings in Michigan.
Lanza used a .22 Marlin rifle to kill his mother, and used the Bushmaster to shoot through glass doors and the children.
Trivia[]
- The artifact has been incinerated in the Lehmann Fornax due to the Artifact database community agreeing that it was far too soon after the event in question for an artifact based on it to be made.
