Agamemnon (14th century BC) was a prince in Greece who took role as king by murdering Tyndareus the former King of Sparta. The next place that he wished to conquer Troy however it was foretold that because Agamemnon believed himself to be a better hunter than Artemis herself. Misfortunes, including plague and a lack of wind, preventing his army from sailing to Troy so he sought council of a Seer named Chryses who informed Agamemnon that he needed to sacrifice his only daughter to appease the goddess which he did. After a stormy voyage Agamemnon and his men reached Troy and despite being a king Agamemnon fought alongside his men until he was wounded and had retreated back to his tent to command from a far. Eventually Agamemnon's army won and they captured Troy. Upon returning to Greece Agamemnon was murdered by his wife since she had taken a lover. Enraged Agamemnon's son Orestes took his father's sword before slaughtering his step mother and her lover.
