Origin[]

Coco Chanel, aka Gabrielle Chanel, was a famous French fashion designer who formed the Chanel fashion brand. Despite the popularity of her fashion line and her most famous perfume, Chanel number 5, she has been harshly criticized for her actions during WW1.

During the German occupation of France, Chanel allied herself with Nazi officials in order to form a hostile takeover of the Parfums Chanel which was directed by a Jewish family, the Wertheimers. Establishing herself as an Aryan and a Nazi sympathizer, she used romantic affiliation with Hans Gunther von Dincklage, a Nazi intelligence officer, to takeover the company. Luckily the Werthheimers were able to transfer their holdings to a Christian friend, preventing the Nazi's from seizing the company through the Third Reich property laws that forbade Jews from owning businesses.

She also assisted in the planned kidnapping of Winston Churchill's cousin. At the Nazi base of the Ritz Hotel, Chanel had planned to lure Churchill's female cousin with the promise of counter-intelligence in order to ransom Churchill for her safe return. Thankfully the plot was discovered in time and the cousin never went.

In addition to her stalwart hatred of Jews she was also an extreme elitist, despite her humble origins as a backup dancing girl. When the Nazi's first invaded France she closed all of her shops in retaliation against her workers who were planning to strike for fair pay, while keeping her lavish apartment above her main store.

After the war ended she retreated from the fashion world for 15 years. When she tried to open shops in France they failed dismally, due to her reputation and wartime activities. However Americans and the English had little information about her activities and became her main customers.

Effect[]

The first handbag of the Chanel line and owned by Coco herself. Infused with her creative genius and passion for style. Touching the handbag allows the user to alter the clothing they're wearing in any way they want, effectively giving them an unlimited wardrobe. The clothes remain unchanged until they're removed or damaged in any way or the bag is neutralized, whereupon they return to their original state. Warning: The longer the altered clothes are worn, the more catty and obnoxious the wearer becomes.

Collection[]

The artifact was bagged after reports of an amatuer fasion designer suddenly coming into great success with his 'Instant Change' clothing. Currently resides in the Clothes' Rack.
