Origin[]

The Davenport Brothers were supposedly psychics who could use ghosts to untie themselves. This rope was used by two men who volunteered to tie the brothers for a show in Liverpool. The men used the "Tom Fool's Knot" which at the time was famous and supposedly secret. The brothers consented, but later complained that the ropes were painfully and unfairly tight. A doctor in the audience declared the rope did not hinder circulation, and the brothers refused to proceed. This caused a furor, which reached a riot the following night, forcing the brothers to flee the city, and later the country.

Effects[]

These ropes automatically tie themselves into the "Tom Fool's Knot" when exposed to a living organism's body or body part that they can fit around. They negate all psychic, mediumistic, and paranormal abilities in those who are tied up. The ropes, the longer they remain tied around someone, tighten over time, eventually cutting off blood circulation to the body part(s) that are tied. Have been known to tie themselves together to bind a larger organism when applied together.
