OriginEdit

Eadweard Muybridge was a photographer whose innovations helped create filmmaking of today. His set of photographs, Sallie Gardner at a Gallop, helped prove that a horse will have all its hooves off the ground at sometime. He also shot and killed his wife's lover, the jury calling it a justifiable homicide.

EffectsEdit

The second one he made in an effort to improve the original, it proved a bit too effective. Instead of relying on pre-made discs of images, Muybridge wanted to imprint the photos onto the discs as the image was being taken - essentially, creating the first video recorder. He succeeded, but the recordings took on a life of their own. It is suspected that one of the recordings of his wife told him of his wife's infidelity, which is why he plead insanity when he was later charged with killing the other man.
