Edo Period: Japan[]
During the Edo Period, when ninjas weren't the right tool for the job, Shoguns would turn to the female varity of the assassins, known as Kunoichis. These assassins are able to slip in and out of important areas without drawing attention by disguising themselves as maids and cleaners. When it came to weapons, they depended on smaller daggers and blades such as the tanto.
While the owner of this tanto has been lost to history, this particular blade absorbed its master's willingness to kill people in power as well as her skilled ninja training.
Today: Warehouse[]
The tanto was recovered during the Euro meltdown when CEOs were being found killed in their offices and no one saw the killer going in or out. The Warehoue was called in and it was found that a woman who was heavy in debt had inherited the dagger from her grandmother and was using it to seek revenge against the banks she had debts to.
