Origin[]

The solar powered ultra-high resolution gamma pulse tomography was originally designed by Tesla High student Megan Harrington for the Eureka science fair. Her mother Jane was behind on project development and used Megan’s designs to complete her work. She panicked funding would be cut and they would have to leave the wonders of Eureka.

Effects[]

The original test model was to supersede x-ray and MRI medical imaging in clarity. But the large rooftop version powered the cephalic pattern security barrier without latency issues. Sensors placed within the doorframes of GD facilities would scan for clearance based on DNA signature. Those lacking would be immobilized by a light-based field, causing them to convulse on the ground without control of their body. Lack of solar power or a bird strike would cause the equipment to malfunction and require manual registration of GD researchers.

When beamed upwards, it interacted with the EM barrier covering Eureka. Firing through a magnetostatic array magnetized the whole shield. Metal debris off satellites in space were being pulled from their stable trajectories and falling into geosynchronous orbit. Even when turned off, the steep descent under gravity continued their flight paths. Adjusting all pieces to shallower angle allowed enough time to vaporize the metal into harmless contrails. To alter course, the original model needs to be connected for extra power and a computer mainframe to calculate the trajectories.

Appearances[]

Gamma pulse model

Original Science Fair Model

It appears in the Season 2 episode “Duck, Duck, Goose“. A small shard struck Carter’s jeep and was examined by NEAT (near earth asteroid tracking) to be metal debris. More objects fell within the timespan of one afternoon, as space junk floating above Eureka was being unnaturally attracted. As the science fair was coinciding at the same time, they discovered the smaller gamma pulse topographer. Zoe had mucked around with the system as payback, and the whole apparatus began attracting metal in the room.

It was quickly discovered the larger receiver on GD was based off the same designs and had caused the interaction when it pierced the EM umbrella. The original model was supercharged further by placing the PV array modules in parallel to increase efficiency 400%. Using SARAH’s mobile unit in the smart car allowed them to orient the magnetic field and adjust the trajectories by 32 degrees and incinerate all material.
