Origin[]

The Harlem Shake (Meme) is a video that lasts around thirty seconds and features an excerpt of the 2012 song "Harlem Shake" by American electronic musician Baauer. There's a fifteen second intro then the bass drops followed by another fifteen seconds with bass and a lion roar at the end. Usually the video begins with a helmeted or masked person dancing to the song along for the first half, surrounded by people not paying attention to the dancer. When the bass drops the video cuts to the entire crowd doing a crazy convulsive dance for the rest of the video. Additionally in the second half people often wear either a minimum of clothes or crazy outfits or costumes while wielding strange props.

Effects[]

Causes wearer and those around them to get up and dance around with random movements, basically recreating the Meme however the music is not present.
