Origin[]
Howard Thurston was a famous American stage magician. He was known as "The King of Cards", due to his great skill at card tricks. Among his famous tricks was the sword cabinet, where an assistant would climb into a cabinet and Thurston would pierce the box with swords and knives. When the box was opened the audience would see that the assistant would be unharmed.
Usage[]
When a person or object is placed inside the box, they are protected from harm. The contents of the box will remain safe despite the damage the outside takes. The effects will only apply when the box is shut. When the box is emptied it repairs itself of all previous damage suffered from protecting its contents.
Collection[]
Artie tracked down this artifact after reading a newspaper article about a miraculous magic show. A pair of budding magicians were attempting to perform an escape using the box and a crane as a tribute to previous great magicians when the cable snapped. The box dropped one hundred and sixty feet, which should have killed or seriously injured the magician inside. He sprang out from the box completely unharmed to the astonishment of the audience.
