It was used in the building of the Serpent Mound in Ohio. Created across the Great Plains by the North American culture the Mound Builders, they constructed large earthen mound for cermonial and elite purposes. Little records exist in current Native American lore, so archaeologits only have the artifacts and sites left behind to judge this Mississippian civilization.
