Origin[]

Odilon Redon (1840 - 1916) was a French symbolist painter, printmaker, draughtsman and pastellist. During his early years as an artist his works were described as "a synthesis of nightmares and dreams." This was because they contained dark, fantastical figures from Redon's own imagination. His work represents an exploration of his internal feelings and psyche. This theme continued throughout his entire career and "Flower Clouds" although bright in color can be interpreted as a beautiful nightmare one cannot escape.

Effects[]

Collection[]

At the beginning of Warehouse 13 at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1920 several students and professors were experiencing lots of sleepless nights. A few grand paintings came from the students however the lack of sleep started to wear the people down resulting in two deaths before agents went to the college and collected the piece.
