Origin[]
In archaic French poems, Ogier the Dane was son of a Danish king and taken hostage by Charlemagne. He managed to overpower his captors after they killed his son and almost killed Charlemagne in return. They fought for seven long years until they reached a truce and fought alongside each other against the Saracens.
Legends grew around Ogier that whenever Denmark is threatened, he will arise from his slumber battle ready to defeat the enemy.
Effects[]
Protects Denmark when it is in peril through various means. It is known to have inspired the WWII Danish resistance group Holger Danske, having at the time imbued its members with heroism and a desire to protect. As a defender of the Danes, the user will indulge in Danish delicacies - especially fermented fish, making some people keep their distance from odor alone.
